Rain, rain, go away...
Well, here we are in the early days of May and facing frost on Wednesday night!
Our once acceptable front landscape is a muddy, rut-filled disaster area as we wait, and wait, and wait… on our poor, soggy landscape contractor who has been waylaid by the weather.
We are asking our guests to turn their eyes toward the improvements in our greatroom, and enjoy the new widescreen TV and regulation pool table, or relax in the supremely comfy parlor of our 1870, gently renovated, east wing. Even discretely spying from the back deck on the varied birds, chipmunks, and very determined red squirrel can be a nice diversion to the chaos in the yard.
I keep myself sane by remembering that in the works are swaths of bluegrass, pathways, and organic, raised-bed, edible flower and herb gardens, as well as happy hens and glorious garden rooms. Ahhh… worth the wait? I think so!
We invite you over this summer to enjoy the changes! And if you are handy with a rake or hammer, call about our working vacation specials – 814-395-5248.
Hope to see you (and our contractor) soon!
